7 Steps In 7 Days - May Edition

I want to give you some easy ideas to

Begin practicing the 7 Step Method in just 7 days!

If you aren't already familiar with my 7 Step Method to Fill Your Cup First, then check out the blog post that I wrote at the very beginning of 2021 HERE to get comfortable with the method.

If you're already familiar with my 7 Step Method, then keep on reading for seven super simple ways to begin implementing the 7 Step Method in just 7 days this spring, to spoil yourself, and fill you up!!!

My apologies, again... I'm definitely regretting posting a schedule back in January. 😅 But honestly, I'm guessing it isn't being noticed much, I have very few readers at this point. When I started working with a mindset coach unexpectedly in February, I didn't anticipate it playing a role in me losing focus and momentum on my blogging! She's had me working on a more focused plan to execute my vision for Dazzling District inc. and also in believing that I am capable and called to be the founder & CEO of Dazzling District. In doing so, I've gotten so excited about the projects I'm working on towards that vision plan we've created in our coaching sessions. I nearly completely forgot to write my March, getting it out late. Then my husband hurt himself, and my April issue got put on the backburner, so it came out a little late too but still in time for Easter. I had hoped to be back on schedule for May, but I underestimated how long my husband's injury was going to keep me occupied and distracted.

A previous version of me would have become discouraged, and I would likely have disappeared and found a job to help my family in this trial. This version of me today realizes the assignment in the vision I was given when I heard the call to create this place, and because of the progress I've made in my mindset coaching, instead of quitting when I fell off plan, I launched a brand-new sales page on March 20th! I launched it just in time for you to have easy access to my unique digital products, downloadable journals and booklets created to aid you on your Dazzling Quest as summer keeps quickly approaching, and the kiddo's even get closer to summer break!

You can find my sales page here to access my unique tools for yourself!

Spring is about renewal and rebirth. Along these lines spring can be a great time for cleaning and detoxing as well. I wrote a blog back in 2021 about detoxing your mind and one about detoxing your spirit. These are both practices that I've tried to incorporate into my life intentionally each spring.  You can read the mind blog HERE and you can read the spirit one HERE. This month's 7 in 7 is going to be focused on the self-care practices inspired by spring and the upcoming summer months! I'm sharing this month's installment of my reoccurring blog series, "7 Steps in 7 Days" to offer solutions for weaving my 7 Step Method into your life with more ease as the weather continues to warm up. I've put together a week's worth of ways for you to practice some bonus self-care this month, in the middle of your everyday life. The goal this month is super simple but effective ways to help you prioritize you with a focus on nutrition! Whether you practice them all this week or spread them out from now until next month, these ideas may help you fill your cup first this May! I hope you enjoy and have a Happy Memorial Day!

Filling Your Cup First

one day at a time.

Seven steps in seven days.

It just makes sense to me.

Here is the May 7 Steps in 7 Days:

Sunday: Back to the Basics

This "Sunday Soak" brings another approach, still in the kitchen though. One of the four cornerstones of getting Back to the Basics is NUTRITION. This month, I want you to stock up on some fresh produce and get some of them soaking in your fridge for easy, healthy snacking throughout the week!  We could all do with drinking more water, and I challenge you to do so this way and freshen it up a bit. A super vital, basic part of taking care of yourself is to consume enough water except basic doesn't have to be boring. Fueling ourselves with clean & colorful fresh foods provides us more energy!
Monday: Mindfulness Moment

For our "Monday Mindfulness Moment" this month I hope to encourage you to make mealtime mindfulness moments with intention towards eating more clean and colorful foods. By clean and colorful, I mean foods with minimal human touch before it gets on your plate while also representing a variety of colors in your meals. Step it Up in the healthy eating game with simple steps like preparing Mason Jar Yogurt Parfaits to store in the fridge for a quick grab & go breakfast. Homemade or store-bought yogurt topped with fresh organic berries and a homemade granola can be tasty while also being clean and colorful. You will thank yourself tomorrow morning when you are eating a tasty treat with no effort! I've included my favorite recipe in a free pdf formatted file that you can download right here as a BONUS gift just for you!

Tuesday: Do Something Little for You

Today is "Treat Yourself Tuesday"! It's the time of the week where I give you permission to Do Something Little for You and spoil yourself, for taking time intentionally every day to improve your care. Mother's Day last week may have stirred up some feelings, if it did, that's perfectly normal. Many mother daughter relationships are complicated. Also, grieving your mother is the most authentic way to celebrate, as Mother's Day was actually first formally celebrated in 1908 to honor a mother (Ann Reeves Jarvis) who had passed away on the second Sunday in May and was missed by her daughter (Anna Jarvis). If this is the case for you spoil yourself with something that brings you a little joy. If it was a perfectly enjoyable day for you, then spoil yourself in some way fun little that easily sparks joy for you anyways Darling! You deserve it too!

So, not terribly scary or overwhelming to apply to your week so far, right?

The second half of the week is when things start to get real fun!

Wednesday: Get a Hobby

For this month's "Wednesday Workshop" we're going to try growing in the dirt. Pick up some potting plants, soil and a few planters to start. Flowers or Herbs. Veggies or Vines. It doesn't matter what you choose. If the fruits of your labor feed your body or your soul, they are still providing nutrition to your life. It may even have a way of enriching your experience in life, grounding you to the earth in a fresh new way. The goal of this prompt is to play in the dirt, cultivating a new kind of growth, encouraging you to Get a Hobby! Grow something for YOU! I've included a Gardening Planner, a BONUS too!

Thursday: Get Your A$$ Moving

This month I want you to jump into gear & get your flex on! This "Thick Thighs Thursday" was chosen to encourage you to Get Your A$$ Moving and your heart pumping with a simple 2-part training circuit! Stretch your arms and then your legs for 5 minutes before you begin the circuit. Start by jumping rope 20 times, then drop the rope and grab 2 small hand weights for 10 butterfly reps on your side and then 10 arm lifts in front of you. Next, set the weights down and grab the jump rope again. Repeat this beginner 2-part training circuit 5x with no rest. Finish your last 10 reps & flex them arms!

Friday: Dream Big

The weekend is here and that means that it's "Friday Funday"! Head into the weekend daydreaming about how you can continue to grow as summer rapidly arrives! Take some time to consider how you want to alter &/or improve your self-care over the next few summer months. Dream Big Darling! Don't wait another season to decide it's time to prioritize you by cleaning up your self-care practices, habits & rituals! Begin nurturing them NOW! Dream of an even healthier and more joyful you. If you take time to do this intentionally over the next few months, you could be fast on your way to a shiny, dazzling & true, new you by the end of June! Celebrating an independently overflowing you by Independence Day!

Saturday: Rest, Reflect, Reevaluate, & Restart

Celebrate "Self-Care Saturday" by reflecting, relaxing & recharging yourself Darling! I hope 2025 is off to an incredible start! I also hope that you have truly begun to prioritize yourself more! In preparation for summer, now is a great time to Rest, Reflect, Reevaluate, & Restart. How can you continue to easily & efficiently practice this prompt in even more creative and specific ways throughout 2025 to ensure your habits and practices are refreshed and renewing to your spirit, your body, and your mind! Resting is vital, reflecting is helpful, reevaluating matters, and restarting keeps you growing!

As I was creating, developing, and fine-tuning my 7-step method to fill my own cup first, it quickly became apparent to me that it was perfectly aligned to 7 days in a week. After launching the brand and beginning my first iteration of the Coffeetalk Newsletter, I created a monthly column sharing how you could challenge yourself through the week and accomplish something for each step in a single week using the 7 Step in 7 Day practice. It was so fun that I decided to turn this into a regular seasonal blog to share. This year I will experiment with a monthly seasonal approach to consistently producing it and will post them according to the following schedule:
