From pumpkin seeds to sticky candy apples this edition might scare you a smidge. When you learn to do this, you are doing the prep work towards overflowing the best of you into your people more easily and more often. The holidays are hard enough We shouldn't have to always be depleting ourselves. Overflow is best!

Filling Your Cup First
one day at a time.
Seven steps in seven days.
It just makes sense to me.
Here is the October 7 Steps in 7 Days:
Sunday: Back to the Basics
This
"Sunday Soak"
is one inspired by the popular Halloween party game, bobbing for apples. I won't have you sticking your face in cold water (but it does have real health benefits). One of the four cornerstones of getting
Back to the Basics is nutrition, which means feeding your body to fuel it. Instead, this month I want you to soak some apples in a simple syrup, add in some fall spices like cinnamon and cloves, then line a pie pan with crust and place the apples into the crust, as neatly or randomly as you feel called, then bake it off in your oven. Not only is this a tasty, simple treat to enjoy around trick-or-treating, but it also makes a great addition to a holiday dessert table, whether Thanksgiving or Christmas, file this
RECIPE away to have it on hand for the holidays. It may help you as your CMM responsibilities amp up over the next few months.
Monday: Mindfulness Moment
For our "Monday Mindfulness Moment" this month I want you to be mindful of the things you tell yourself. As the spooky season surrounds you with monsters, and ghosts, be intentional to take notice of the things you tell yourself about YOU. Step it Up this month when it comes to your self-talk. We can all be little scary from time to time, but you are NOT a monster, so don't talk to yourself like you are. Spend a little time in isolated quiet. What are the thoughts floating through your brain like ghosts of your past? Take time to sit with these thoughts, listing them out if you have to using THIS thoughts worksheet I made for you. Then take that list and cross each scary thought off, next, rewrite it with a spirit of hope and belief in yourself. Maybe you don't believe the positive thoughts yet, that ok. Write them anyway. Check in with yourself before and after this exercise. Our thoughts have impact over us, physically, mentally, even spiritually, and now is the time to begin digging up the bad thoughts and replanting more positive ones as the inevitable pressure of the last quarter of 2025 rapidly begins teasing you with self-doubt.
Tuesday: Do Something Little for You
Today is "Treat Yourself Tuesday"! It's the time of the week where I give you permission to Do Something Little for You and spoil yourself, for taking time intentionally every day to improve your care. Halloween is a day filled with vast amounts of candy. Do something little for you and pick up a sweet candy treat of your choosing, JUST FOR YOU! This will give you the seasonal candy fix ahead of the main event without excessive hijacking from your kiddos carefully gathered collection of candy. You know how long it takes them to make a choice at the bowl, help them keep more so that time isn't wasted effort. Parent tax is still a thing of course, but doing this simple step will help you bring the candy tax down, eliminating some whining!
So, not terribly scary or overwhelming to apply to your week so far, right?
The second half of the week is when things start to get real fun!
Wednesday: Get a Hobby
For this month's "Wednesday Workshop" I'm getting you slimy or splattered. I want you to Get a Hobby this month that is probably something you haven't done in years! Inspired by the iconic symbol of Halloween, I'm challenging you to practice some pumpkin art. Whether you carve a jack 'o lantern face and stick a candle inside or paint a scene on its flesh full of details, I want you to get a little crafty with a pumpkin just in time for it to adorn your front steps alongside your children's! We can play too!
Thursday: Get Your A$$ Moving
Halloween parties are full of fun, and food, and calorie loaded beverages. I made "Thick Thighs Thursday" to be sure to encourage fitness all year round, not just during the warm summer months and not just in traditional fitness ways. This month we are going to Get Your A$$ Moving by getting you on the dance floor, literal or symbolic. It doesn't matter to me where you are at, only that you crank up the radio and dance it out. Alone, with your kids, with friends, just dance like nobody is watching, it's not scary, it's cool.
Friday: Dream Big
The weekend is here and that means that it's "Friday Funday"! Halloween is typically filled with nightmares, but this year it'll be a breeding ground for dreams! Head into the weekend with a fall inspired, fearless dream session about how you can keep finding little nuggets of time, over the next two months, to retreat from the craziness of your life and take care of you. It is especially important as the holidays fill up our calendars. Three major holidays across 6 weeks doesn't mean you can't still seek rest and also recharge as the schedule gets crazy! Grab a notebook and pen before you find a quiet corner to plot and plan. Then, Dream Big Darling, frighteningly BIG! Make sure you're shooting for the stars and stop ignoring your dreams due to fear of leaving your comfort zone or doubt in yourself. The best things usually happen only AFTER you leave your comfort zone! Dream fearlessly darling! It can murder your doubt!
Saturday: Rest, Reflect, Reevaluate, & Restart
Celebrate
"Self-Care Saturday" by reflecting, relaxing, and recharging yourself Darling! It is time for you to soak up some rest and relaxation before it's constant celebration or preparation! I hope 2025 gone well so far! We are officially down to the last quarter of the year! I also hope that you have truly begun to prioritize yourself more this year, and I hope this monthly blog series has helped you with that! As we usher in these last couple months of the year, now might be your last real chance to truly
Rest, Reflect, Reevaluate, & Restart before the holiday season is here. How can you continue to easily & efficiently practice this prompt in an even more creative ways, targeting specific shortfalls in our care throughout the reminder of 2025 to ensure your habits and practices are at their peak before next year, while being the Chief Merry Maker of your home. These practices should also help you to prioritize renewal in your spirit, your body, and your mind! Resting is vital, reflecting is helpful, reevaluating matters, and restarting keeps you always growing!

As I was creating, developing, and fine-tuning my 7-step method to fill my own cup first, it quickly became apparent to me that it was perfectly aligned to 7 days in a week. After launching the brand and beginning my first iteration of the Coffeetalk Newsletter, I created a monthly column sharing how you could challenge yourself through the week and accomplish something for each step in a single week using the 7 Step in 7 Day practice. It was so fun that I decided to turn this into a regular seasonal blog to share. This year I will experiment with a monthly seasonal approach to consistently producing it and will post them according to the schedule above.
*** I'm definitely regretting posting a schedule back in January, I think I was late with more than I was on time for. 😅
But honestly, I'm guessing it isn't being noticed much, I have very few readers at this point, and that's okay.
With my kids back in school again, I anticipate the remaining editions to be out on time,
as I'll have more time to myself to write and create content easier again.
I am doubling down for the rest of the year and intend to maintain my schedule for this last quarter!
A previous version of me would have become discouraged through all these setbacks and missed deadlines that I've faced this year, and I would likely have disappeared and simply found a job to help my family with financial stability in this trial filled season. This version of me today realizes the assignment in the vision I was given when I heard the call to create this place. I launched a brand-new sales page on March 20th, just in time for you to have easy access to my unique digital products, downloadable journals and booklets I created to aid you on your Dazzling Quest! I also launched my new podcast "The Dazzling Show" on July 2nd to help encourage all of the moms out there to prioritize their self-care and begin practicing "The Art of Overflow"! Season 2 is here!
Season One is themed to help moms that are just trying to "Survive Summer" and you can Listen to it HERE!
Season Two will help you "Thrive thru Fall" and it will be rolling out weekly until Thanksgiving!
